António Duarte Mil-Homens was born in Lisbon on October 9, 1949.
Essentially self-taught, he began to photograph in 1974. He attended the Professional Photography Course of the Portuguese Association of Photographic Art, as well as several Digital Photography Workshops.
As Photojournalist and Reporter, started with "Podium", Regional Newspaper from Oeiras and Cascais, from 1980 till 1982. Since then, along with "Lusa" news agency, "Século Ilustrado", "A Capital", "Expresso", "Jornal Tribuna de Macau", "Hoje Macau", "Revista Macau","Ponto Final", "Macau Daily Times", "Macau Closer", "Business Intelligence", "Essencial Macau", and others, published his work. Recently, start being part of "O Regiões" - Castelo Branco, team.
In 1984 he became an advertising photographer, working for agencies and companies in the most varied areas, such as food, cosmetics, textiles, automobiles, telecommunications, glass and crystal, as well as official departments, photographing in studios, industrial facilities or outdoors, reportage , aerial, scientific photography.
From June 1987 to January 2005, he was also a photographer at the Agronomic High Studies Institute, in Lisbon, producing in Photography and Video thousands of images to support teaching and research, theses and communications, defended and presented in Portugal and abroad.
His curriculum includes 24 individual photography exhibitions, having also participated in 31 collective photography and art exhibitions.
Awarded in several competitions, he was also part of the Jury of others.
He has organized and teaching, since 1989, 52 Photography Courses, as well as Workshops.
His work has been published in dozens of books.
Writing, essentially Poetry, is another area that gains expression in her creative activity. Published to date “Life or Death of a Foretold Hope”, Macau 2010 – Author edition; “Universália”, 2019 – Original Themes, Coimbra; “Macao Poemography”, 2019 (Portuguese, Chinese and English) – Cultural Institute of Macau.
He participated in “Under Epigraph – Tributes to Camilo Pessanha, Fernando Pessoa, Sophia de Melo Breyner Andresen, Jorge de Sena”; “The Night Watch”; “Portrait of a Woman”, as well as in the poetry selections OPUS I, II, III IV, V and VI. All from Original Themes, Coimbra, Portugal.
His poems are also part of “Pearl River”, 2020, Macau – Ipsis Verbis.
He is mentioned in the “Literary Delta of Macau”, by José Carlos Seabra Pereira.
In 2020, he also started a career in Painting, presenting his first exhibition, “MONOCHROME”, at the Oriental Foundation Gallery in Macau. "METROPOLIS", in July 2022, has been his second painting exhibition, at Rui Cunha Foundation, Macau SAR.
